Libertyville-Mundelein Historical Society Special Events

  • We host a Victorian Christmas Open House in the Cook Home during designated weekends in December. 
  • The Cook House and Victorian Museum is open Sundays during June, July and August from 2 to 4 p.m.

  • Adlai Stevenson House Tours

The Adlai Stevenson House, located in Mettawa, Illinois, was home to Illinois Governor and Presidential Candidate Adlai Stevenson.  It was restored and is maintained by the Lake County Forest Preserve. For more information, click here.

  • MainStreet Libertyville Events

    MainStreet Libertyville, Inc. is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization dedicated to the economic development and historic preservation of Libertyville's historic downtown. They are affiliates of the Illinois Main Street and National Main Street programs.  They host many events throughout the year and are instrumental in retaining Libertyville’s small-town atmosphere.

  • Lake County Discovery Museum/Lake County Forest Preserve Events

The LCDM/FP hosts many local history events including Civil War Reenactment in July and Farm Heritage Festival.
